Object Description'Bas hume se-vu' jar with looped handle at top with flat base; high stone polish exterior, interior smoother. Red paste from Hawell Mesa. Decoration: 2 long-haired kachinas and alternating cloud scroll on body. Pair of cloud symbols and lightning [drawing in original catalogue of design]; black and white on red. HT: 5 5/8" (14.5cm); Width 5 1/4" (13.5cm); wall thickness at handle 1/4" (.65cm); capacity 2 3/4 cups vermiculite. Made by Triva Burton and fired in an electric kiln. Signed 'T. Burton ; Old Oraibi Ariz.' Wyckoff no. 158. Purpose of manufacture: sale (commissioned). $50.00. Hopi, Old Oraibi, 3rd Mesa, Arizona, Southwest
