Pottery anthropomorphic effigy jar representing the rain god (Tlaloc). Unpainted buff pottery; features appliques; lug handles form ears. Height 5 3/4", max.diam. 5 1/2". Extensively repaired and restored (pair appraised by A. Emmerich at $400) (identified by M. Coe as probably Early Classic horizon, Teotihuacan II style). Valley of Mexico, Mexico.
