University of Texas High-Resolution X-ray CT Facility Archive 0977 Lundberg: Aguarunichthys: Scans of the head of Aguarunichthys torosus (MZUSP 50398) for Dr. John Lundberg of the Academy of Natural Sciences. Specimen scanned by Matthew Colbert 19 February 2004. 16bit: 1024x1024 16-bit TIFF images. II, 180 kV, 0.133 mA, no filter, empty container wedge, no offset, slice thickness 1 line (= 0.071 mm), S.O.D. 207 mm, 1600 views, 2 samples per view, inter-slice spacing 1 line (= 0.071 mm), field of reconstruction 65 mm (maximum field of view 67.83465 mm), reconstruction offset 5250, reconstruction scale 2450. Reconstructed off-center: x = -0.7, y = 0.7. Acquired with 27 slices per rotation. Flash- and ring-removal processing done by Rachel Racicot based on correction of raw sinogram data using IDL routines “RK_SinoDeSpike” and “RK_SinoRingProcSimul”, both with default parameters. The data required two c-ray corrections, to account for distortions on the left relative to the right side of the image. To sharpen the left side of the image, one set of data was reconstructed with c-ray offsets ranging from 1 at image 541 to 0 at image 568, repeating for every 27 slices after that, using a parameter file. To sharpen the right side of the image, another set of data was reconstructed with c-ray offsets ranging from -0.5 at image 487 to 0 at image 514, and repeating for every 27 slices after that, using a parameter file. These two sets of data were corrected for rotational errors using IDL routine “DoRotationCorrection”, applied by Rachel Racicot. Richard Ketcham spliced together the better halves of each set of data in IDL to make the final 16-bit set. These images were renumbered and flipped horizontally, since the specimen was scanned mounted head down. Total slices = 1323.
