417 Media · 200 Specimens · Managed by: Lauren Gonzales

This project includes scans of strepsirrhine, platyrrhine and cercopithecine skulls that were collected by Lauren A. Gonzales for research on the inner ear (2014-2016). This work was funded by the LSB Leakey Foundation. Osteological specimens (for strepsirrhines and platyrrhines) are currently housed in collections at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York, NY and also at the National Museum of Natural History (USNM) in Washington DC. All skulls were scanned at the Shared Instruments Facility (SMIF) at Duke University. All Chlorocebus skulls are part of a wild shot population from Rusinga Island, Kenya. Additional information, including body mass estimates, can be obtained by contacting Brenda Benefit (bbenefit@nsmu.edu). Acknowledgement that these scans are the property of the AMNH, USNM and/or Brenda Benefit is required for any publication resulting from the analysis of any of these scans. Cranial capacity for all specimens is available upon request.
