Digitalizing holotypes of the paleovertebrate collection of Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi (Brazil): tools for research and science outreach Project ID: 000422429 Public
18 Media · 18 Specimens · Creator: Leonardo Kerber · Managed by: Leonardo Kerber

The digitization of paleontological collections is increasingly important for morphological studies and science outreach. In this communication, we reported digital versions of the holotypes of the paleovertebrate collection of the Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi, Brazil, and proposed cybertypes for these specimens. Eighteen holotypes of early/middle Miocene Teleostei from Pirabas Formation, northern Brazil, were scanned using microtomography. The digital information of these specimens is now available for future studies on the morphology of these specimens.
